Calling scale sum: 2
Living calling scale sum: Does not apply in this case
You are someone who doesn’t sense a calling right now. Around 17% of working adults feel this way and around 8% of college students feel this way. Sometimes the motivation to discern a calling is simply low or nonexistent, as is the case for people who simply don’t find the concept of calling relevant to how they think about work. Other people do feel a strong motivation to find a calling and identify an opportunity in which they can live it out, but don’t know where to start. How do you take the first step toward understanding your calling? In MYJAC, we answer this question by describing a number of strategies in which people can engage. For example, take an active approach, and start by assessing your skills, interests, personality, and values, and using this understanding of yourself to explore and identify occupations that would provide an excellent fit for your personal attributes. This process can be aided by the help of trusted friends or family, or a trained career counselor.
